my engine sometimes runs hot. i started it and let it idle in my driveway, got up to about 220, 240 (if its accurate) and no fan came on, i also turned on the ac and nothing happend (second fan supposed to start with ac right?)

I would like to fix this so that fan comes on at 220 or whenever its supposed to, and i want to rewire the ac fan to be always on.

im new to tpi so help me out with this. thanks!

first check to make sure the motors work, put 12 volts to each fan connector and see if they move.

i wouldnt any fan to be on all the time either.

the frist one (drivers side) should come on around 227, that works off the computer and the coolant temp sensor.

with my RS, single fan, i had it on all the time. well, when the ignition was on.

thats what i want one fan to do. the other to come on when its supposed to.

this is why i always wire them to a switch. i dont want to trust MY motor to a cheap sensor (at least not for cooling) and i HATE GM's system that LETS the car overheat...

You can wire your secondary fan just like you did your single fan on the RS. It works with the fan switch located between plugs 6 & 8. Just splice into the wire and ground it(I'd say to a switch though so it's not running all the time), but that's up to you.

But since neither fan is working(your computer isn't controlling your primary fan like it's supposed to), I'm gonna guess your relays are bad. They'd prolly go bad before the fan motors themselves would burnout.

I know where the relays are on Firebirds, but I don't know where they are on Camaros. But fan/relay questions are numerous, so you oughta be able to turn up something easily with a search.
