Temp. sensor and fan turn on sensor, important?!?!

Hi, I was just wondering on an 89 305 (lo3 I belive) is the pass. side sensor for the fan, and the driver side sensor for the guage?? Or do they go the opposite way, in the engine?? I might have them wired the wrong way, its possible. Please tell me what should be happening if I did wire them wrong??
Thanks.

You are right. Passenger side is the fan switch, which tells the secondary fan when to come on and off, and the driver's side is the guage sensor...

No clue on what would happen if you wired wrong...

If you wire them backwards your fan should stay on all the time but run very slowly. Your gauge wouldnt move at all untill the temp that the fan swicth operates. Then your gauge would read max temperature.
