JET Cooling Fan Switch
JET Cooling Fan Switch
Hey Guys,
Got a 92 Camaro, 350. not sure exactly where the replacement cooling fan switch goes. It is the one that turns on the fan at a lower temperature. It is a JET part, # 60600.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

i dont have a clue, check in yer haynes repair manual.. assuming you got one... while we're on the topic... i was kinda thinking about getting a hypertech fan switch, but it says its for use with their thermomaster chips. Will the switch alone do anything? Also how do i know which temp. i want? on 176/off 166 or on 200/ off 185?
Thanks... and hope someone can tell ya where it goes

I installed the Hypertech 200/185 fan switch in the passenger side head and changed the themostat to a 180 in my 91 RS. Works as advertised but, kept setting off the SES light until I had a new chip burned that recognized the new cooler running condition. When, and if you make these changes just be aware that you may also need to replace the stock chip unless you dont mind the SES light lighting up 5 miles down the road.

The fan switch is located on the passenger side cylinder head in between the rear two spark plugs (#6 and #8). It's hard to see from the top, you'll probably have to jack the car up to see it.

Yea, Its in the passanger head down low. Just take the factory switch out & put the aftermarket one in. I ran a JET Switch myself along with a MILOIDON High Flow 160* thermostat, EDELBROCK Victor water pump, PRO-BLEND 40 Below water-wetter, 20% clear antifrezze mixed with distilled water. I never had any problem with a SES light nor see any reason what-so-ever would cause one, though a few months lator I did some chip tuning and edited some things in the bin that had to do with cooling. I still run hotter at timies than I like 210-218* a good bit of the time. I plan on swapping to a duel 1" core aluminum raditiator with a duel fan setup where one fan comes on at 180* then the other at 195* and or whenever the A/C gets turned on, both will turn off when the car cools down to 165* unless the A/C is on then the 2nd stays on till the A/C gets turned off. I also plan to have the A/C turn off anytime the throttle is 85% or more open. I have done this to my '97 Z28 and really like it, you can run the A/C all the time with no worry about losing power when really getting on it then the moment you let out of the gas cool air starts coming right back out. I really love it. Good luck with your cooling atempt LO3's seem to have major cooling issiues, the factory really got deep in the bin to make the cars run around 220-230* for thoes g0ddamned treeloving m0+herfu(king somg haiting ****ea+ers!
I need to install my jet temp switch too..Will I loose a mess of coolant if I don't drain it.... I tried cracking the radiator petcock, but it just runs all down the radiator support and makes a mess...hate to think I gotta take the radiator lower hose off again.sh!^
