fan wired into ignition

hey i bought my sc from a guy outta ohio and i donno if it was him or someone else who wired the fan to the ignition, so everytime i turn the key the fan is on b4 it is started... havent had any cooling/heating problems yet... i dont think this is a bad idea just wonderd if i should do anything about it or has anyone ever seen this, and wondering if it really will make that much of a differance in the time it takes to heat up
thanks

I dont see anything wrong with it, but being that you are in Wisconsin and he was in Ohio...the question that I have, is will it cause it not to warm up enough for the northern conditions during the winter?

If it has AC, then it definately needs the fan running until you are at highway speeds. I ordered my '83 without AC, (stupid) so when I installed an aftermarket AC system, I rigged the fan to run continuously except when I'm in 5th gear. I have a micro switch located at the shifter, under the leather boot, that turns off the fan when in 5th gear. Has worked darn good for twenty years.
