how hard to convert to dual fans?
hey guys my car has one electric fan right now amd i want to convert my car to dual electric fans... what alll do i have to get to do this?

Not too hard at all. Just a wiring job mostly. Slightly complicated if you dont know wiring but still achieveable. You will need two different fan switches, some relays, power and ground to your new fans. And the mounting brackets. You will need both the lower and upper mounting brackets or fan shrouds. The lower one i made for my setup using a bent piece of steel. The upper fan shroud you can find pretty much anywhere. Junkyard, friend, catalog, hey I probably even have one. i planed on eather running them on a switch like my present single fan set up or making them both come on when the key is turned forword....

Have you had a chance to read that article yet? It should explain a little bit more on why that might be a bad idea. Basically if you ran both fans all the time your car would never be able to properly warm up. Especially with both fans. This may seem counter-intuitive because you want your car running cold. But actually you need it close to the 150 to 190 degree area. If the coolant being cooled in the radiator stays extremely cold when your thermostat opens the cold water quickly cools the thermostat and closes it too quick. You dont get enough coolant circulating through the block and your engine could overheat. ALso you dont let enough warmer coolant back into the radiator for cooling. Sorry to trail off. I think if you had a custom setup like you were talking about and turning them on manually that would work fine. Just have separate switches so you could turn them off and on in stages. Check out that article. That dude knows a lot more that i can explain.

thats what i was also thinking about because thats how i had my lasts et up... i had a switch so i would turn it on when it would get close to 200 dagrees.... so i am thinking that i will have two switches one for each fan that way i have even more controle over them so if i dont need both then i will be able to just have one on...like for in toun when driving around slow and if i am sitting for long periods of time like at blocked up traffic or stop and talking to soem one i can switch both on....
