My temp guage is all over the place!!!

Hey ok, so my temp guage is jumping all over the place......mostly showing all the way hot but engine is quite cool, no heat out of the heater, radiator hose not pressureised etc. So what is wrong is it the gauge sender or thermostat or what?

It could be air in your cooling system. Are you losing any coolant? If there are no drips on the ground it could be internal, like a bad head gasket.

the CTS is located on the driver side of the engine , look closely it has a little wire attatched to it , it goes into the engine under the valve cover towards the front of the engine,, id start by changing that , its like 10-15 bucks

Well heres what happened.......i was driving last night and my heater valve blew open. That sucked so i came back and replaced it and now the temp guage is working just fine. So somehow the heater valve is connected to the temp gauge i dont know how. Thats my story.
