heater not so heating

before you fellas get on my case i did ,my heater doesnt blow HOT air, its more like warm air, i let my car warm up fully today and checked the heater core, im guessing the heater core is suppose to be getting hot right? because mine seemed to cool, iv also checked the heater core hoses and there warm, seems like my heater core is getting the antifreeze but not heating it. should i go ahead and replace my heater core? one more thing i also checked the heater control valve and there was no vacume, could it be my heater control valve and not my heatercore?

i too am having an issue with my heater core. I wait for my car to warm up and then turn on the heat but the air never gets hot, just mild. should i just go ahead and replace the core? and to the thread starter, i would say replace urs too, no harm in doin that?

eh i guess there is no harm , iv been thinking of replacing it , but i do get hot coolant in the core, one line gets hot and the other line stays cool, like its suppose to, do you know if your core is heating up? try feeling the core , i guess only we can help each other out

There should be vacuum on the line going to the control valve, if not, run that down first.

When the valve is working and the heater is on, BOTH hoses will be pretty darn warm unless the heater core is plugged. The one hose being warm and the other cool leads me to think the valve is not working right...

Also be sure to check the coolant level, low coolant causes a heater to run cooler as well.

yeh thats a good start, i never really knew how that line pulled vacume, i remember i disconnected it one time by accident and it had plenty of vacume, now it doesnt have any vacume at all...why am i getting no vacume? should i trace this line that goes into the valve, it seems like it goes through the firewall and inside the car

btw coolant is full,

im thinking its the thermo also (car takes a pretty long time to warm up) but since i have no vacume im going to see if i can figure out why there is no vacume in the line that goes to the heater valve, once i did that i'll check the thermo,

so back to the question, where can i trace this line? whats the source that is making this line pull , perhaps another vacume line disconnected?
