Where is Temp Sensor?

I went from TPI to Carb. The only guage that I can't get to work is the water temp guage. Since I bought the car without a motor, I'm at a loss. Where was the stock temp sensor on the motor? I bought the sensor that goes on the head but that must be for the fan relay via the computer because plugging it in doesn't get the temp guage to work. Any help would be appreciated !!

Driver side head, between the 1 & 3 cylinders. At any Parts America stores, TSU64 is the GP Sorenson part number.

Thanks, Guys. Is it the one with the oval shaped plug in? I bought that one as per the catalog at my local NAPA. It does not look like the one posted by Stekman in the post titled "Stock Temp guage dead ". That posted sensor has a single blade male. Wrong sensor? Was there a sensor on both sides of the motor at the head? One for the fan relay and one for the guage? My car is a 1985 IROC.

It appears that the post "Can someone help identify these sensors? (pic) " has solved the problem. Sorry for not reading before posting!!
