Dual Fans / No Computer
Ok, I'm fixing to drop in a brand new oldschool 350, carb no computer, all new everything. I'm also going to use the GMPP Deluxe serpentine kit so I'll need to switch over to dual electric fans and dump my belt driven fan. Any suggestions on running
the fans without a computer? Anything I need to know ahead of time?
Thanks.

If you want dual fans, there are any number of ways you could do it. You could wire them both to be on all the time, both of them on a temperature switch, one on all the time and one one a switch, both of them on different switches with different setpoints...

You don't want the fans on all the time. You will fry the fan motors in short order and place a lot of stress on the generator. Use the aux fan switch in a stock dual fan setup and simply drive 2 relays or get a heavier around 40-50 amps relay and drive both fans off it. Make sure the feed wire to the relay is heavy enough for both fans and fuse it accordingly.

I'm looking at wiring / relay kits from Painless wiring and Jet performance. I just got a used dual fan setup from Hawks.
