a/c not working on ON position
Hi on my 91 RS my a/c doesnt work at all it doesnt turn the fan on when i turn it to a/c or even heater i can only get the fan to turn on when i jam the switch to the off position ,and then it starts to blow through the vents for a sec then it goes to the floor vents and stays there and. It olny blows hot i checked the valve on the a/c lines and there is no pressure in the system so i dont know if this is why it wont goto the different settings on the a/c controls or what.
Does anyone have the same problem and know how to fix it or have an idea of what it is thanks ,chris

I'm not sure what your saying, you need more punctuations.
But what I can gather, is the a/c works only for a second or two after you switch it to the off position, but it blows out warm air and at your feet?
Now, are you switching AC off when the level is on the "feet"? OR maybe there is a vacuum leak in the engine bay so the doors aren't opening when you want them too. Have you checked for vacuum hoses not plugged in? There was a vacuum line that had dry-rotted behind my front driver headlight. I cut it back, got a plastic hose thing, and put it in both sides and fixxed the problem.
As for the AC not working, or blowing.......has it just started doing this? Does it tug on the engine or make it feel like it's chugging and running out of gas when it's on? If so, that would explain the warm and not working right, you're out of refridgerant. Go get it recharged.

it seems like the controls are all mixed up like the OFF position is ON and when i try to put it anywhere but OFF it dosent even turn on the blower. Also the system needs to be recharged like you said but im trying to figure out this problem first . I have no idea what is wrong with it ive tryed taking the whole console apart and looked at the a/c panel and it looks all good, nuthing unpluged or missing.
thanks , chris
