Radiator cap pressure

New thermostat and gaskets on the way .. ordered them .. so when I flush the radiator I'll probably just go ahead and get a new radiator cap as well .. now .. question is ...

standard pressure .. or.. get a slightly higher pressure (like 2-5 lbs higher pressure than stock) ... good or bad ? (probably opened a can of worms on this one lol)

The engine's a stock 305 TBI ... L03 ... '91 Camaro RS

The thermostat will be a highflow 180 degree

pressure test your cap, if it passes, just reuse it. theres no need to raise the pressure, all your doing is raising the boiling poing 3 degrees for every psi.

What he said. There's no gain from a higher operational PSI for the cooling system. Just keeps fluids in the actual "usable" system longer in the event you start to get toasty under the hood.
