air in the system

if you have air in your antifreeze would that make you over heat? i am not having an overheating problem but i want to try to get my heat back before winter comes. i did have heat before i flushed my radiator. i am guessing i have air in the system? i have replaced my thermostat .. i had a similiar thread to this along time ago but i really want to get going on this now that it is warm. thanks

I normally burp the cooling system by leaving the radiator cap off and letting it warm up so the thermostat opens and top off as necessary. Sometimes I have to squeeze the top radiator hose a little bit as the air seems to pocket up in that area. Can get messy but I've seen shops do flushes to cars and have so much air left in them the reservior and the top 1 inch of the radiator is dry.

Are you talking about heat from the heater core AKA the heater vents being to cold now? If that's the problem run different thermostats for winter and summer. I use to run a 195* (stock) for winter and a 180 for summer.
