Help!

What does this coolant tee do besides send water to the throttle body and can it be eliminated?

Thats the heater control valve. The vacuum line at the top allows water to flow thru the heater core when heat is requested from the interior controls and shuts off the flow when heat is off. Unless you don't want heat you need it.
