a/c not working

Hello I am new to the boards I have a question about the a/c let me start by saying I have found plenty of very helpful info and I do use the search feature long story short the car is 86 z28 lg4 v-8 with electric cooling fan but I have the cooling fan on a painless wiring set up so it was not running while it was charging the system, took 11/2 15oz cans r134 then the compressor quit running at the time I had the switch jumped out and thought I was on my way to cool and refreshing a/c but now I cant get the compressor to kick over at all I have searched and looked at the diagrams for the a/c system but now I’m stumped and would appreciate any suggestions thanks in advance, buring up in joisy

Check the overpressure switch for the compressor. R134 operates at significantly higher pressures than the original R12, and your current level of charge could present more pressure than the system was designed to handle.

Of course, you're NOT mixing R134 over R12, correct?
