radiator swap?

I got a brand new radiator out of a 99 silverado. Has connections for oil cooler lines too. It measures about 41" wide. I think stock 3rd gen radiators are only like 31" or so. Has anyone ran a radiator this wide before? I know hacking would be in order, buit Im wondering if its worth it. Its a free, slightly used part. Plus, my stock one wud need to be cleaned at the very least, if not replaced.

The height is about the same, and its a little thinner than my stock one. It seems to me that a thinner one with a larger surface area should cool better than a thicker one with a smaller surface area.

You're not going to fit an extra 10" of width. Worth it? No.
