A chemical flush is probably the best if done correctly. One word of caution, be prepared to replace the water pump if it's has some miles on it. Prestone has a kit that you can buy that you insert a fitting into the heater core line and allows you to backflush the system. To properly to the flush you should remove the Tstat. After a flush you should use GM sealing tablets, or the powered Bars leak which is the same thing. That may prevent the pump from failing. All new vehicles come with the tablets to prevent damage to the pump until the bearing laps in. Also many drive thru lube places do a complete fluid exchange saving the hassle.

After the flush, you could also run one of those antifreeze filter screens that are place din-line with the radiator return hose. It should trap most of the extra floating crap that didn't get flushed out.

Okay.... thanks.... i deebo'd my lil bro's 4 core outa his 84 monte...

lol this radiator is huge-mongous... barely fits in width... height and thickness... lol

i think i'll just go pay someone to flush this crap... i dont feel like dealing with it..

meh, on a side note... my heater core was leaking quite nicely onto my passenger footwell... so i bypassed it... The monte carlo radiator doesn't have a provision for the heater hose in it and right now i just have the whole deal by passed...

when i fix the heater core.. how should i go about routing hoses
