Noisy heater fan
Just wondering how quiet or loud everyone's heater fans are. Mine makes quite a bit of noise, like your computer fan when it's full of dust or like sticking something in the spokes of your bike wheel. Does it need to be cleaned or replaced?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Since the car is 20 years old or so, the motor is probably out of sorts--thousands and thousands of revolutions by now. Replacement is easy, and you may be surprised at how much more flow you get with a new one.

Yeah, I hadn't thought about getting better flow. I've always thought I needed to add a higher setting on that thing so it clears the windshield faster. If the new motor was more efficient, you could get more flow for the same amount of power draw as the old fan on its current highest setting.
The reason I really asked was because of the inherent crappiness of a lot of things on these cars. If I replace it and there's only a small improvement, then I've wasted money.
Glad to hear it's easy to do though, that's always a treat!
