Heat wont get hot
My muffler fell off...It took me a week to get it replaced...It's done now. The day after it fell off I noticed my heater wasn't blowing warm air. I don't know if the two are related but thought I'd mention it. I noticed a sucking noise behind the hvac controls and the system was having a hard time switching from the defrost to anything else...took a few tries...
-I fiddled behind the controls today making sure the vaccuum lines were secure...I got the sucking noise to elave and now it shifts fine from defrost to vent..ect....but I'm still not getting warm air. It's not quite as cold as it was...but this is wisconsin...."kinda not cold" isn't gonna cut it for me.....I added some anti-freeze because I was low...but any ideas?

make sure that the hot water valve in the engine compartment is sending water to the core just feel the hoses going to the heater. if it is then check the cable going to the tempature control valve which is inside the car behind the dash good luck

ok in the engine compartment on the passenger side there should be two black heater hoses going into the firewall to the heater core which you can only remove from the in side passenger side. these two heater hoses. not sure what engine you have but one may come from the water pump and the other should return to the radiator the water valve is the one that will have three lines to it.

I fixed it....Gets nice and warm with a filled radiator...
The vacuum line that goes to the top of the water valve...what is that for exactly...It's been removed since i bought the car. The line that goes to it is melted shut. I know I have a vacuum problem in this car cause the cruise doesn't work and all the lines under the dash are re routed by the previous owner....I don't know much about the vacuum system....Everything but the cruise works so me and my dad just left it alone when we saw how re routed it was.:
