Coolant Filling Options.....
Ok, had a question that couldnt find the answer to so i figure ill run it by you all on here. When i get the new alluminum rad installed and i fill it i was going to try this combo:: 1 bottle water wetter, maybe 30% coolant, and the rest water. The car doesnt get drivin in the winter time HOWEVER, she does get stored in a non heated garage. I usually start her up 3 or 4 times throughout the winter so my battery doesnt die, and she can run for a lil bit, but i just dont want my lines to get frozen including the block to crack if i used all water. What do you guys think??

only reason why i was saying about the water wetter is that ive read alot on the net of how it cools a lil quicker. I think someone on here said the same thing....cant really remember though. Is the orange colored coolant any different or just a diff color?

Its a different coolant designed for newer vehicles that have alot of aluminum content in the engine/cooling system. Its a good chioce to go with. 50/50

Even in summer, if you don't have a problem with overheating, why bother?

ery true, i odnt have a problem with overheating, but....im changing the rad becuase right now im just getting tired of the car running hot. If im street driving around and not stopping much its not as bad, the minute you start stopping at lights and whatnot......she goes right up there...220-225', so thats why im putting a alluminum rad in and the fan switch in also. Im sure by going with the 50/50 it should be fine.

oh yea...i know that. The switch that im putting in is going to have them come on at 200. when she hits like 220 and the primary fan comes on, i do see a change...but if im still stopping and going stopping and going...it really doesnt help. I think once i get the new rad installed is should help out alot, cause the orig one thats in there now has been fixed like 4 times cause of not holding the pressure and with that said i can only put like a 7lb pressure cap on it...otherwise it starts to leak a little bit on the driverside corner. Ill be sure to let you all know though once i get it all in.
