Aftermarket catch can mounting question

In my never ending quest for a clean engine bay, I'm planning to remove, excuse me "delete" my coolant overflow tank with a nice pretty polished one from summit. It's a recirculating tank, and I'm wondering if it matters how I mount it?

...I'm guessing as long as the overflow hose is submerged it doesn't matter. Which would mean as long as is not horizontal or upside down, it should work.

Can anyone confirm this?
