Alright heres the story. I was on my way home when I heard a knocking on the freeway. When I got off of the freeway the car was overheated. My temperature gauge and my oil pressure gauge never have worked, so I dont know how hot the engine was. Another thing, I just changed the oil about 50 miles ago and the oil looks brand new on the dip stick. Could it be my oil pump or something else? Any help you guys could give me on what to do would be much appreciated. Thanks.

 

Check the obvious, like the fan, wiring etc. If all checks out OK see if your temp sensor for the fan (I assume you have an electric fan) is OK. There are two temp sensors, one for the gauge one for the fan. I can't remember which one's which but there's one on the water pump neck and one on the passenger side I think near the firewall. If you have AC the fan should run when you turn the AC on, that's what I did until I had the sensor replaced.

The problem might be more more serious that this but let's hope is just something simple like a sensor and not something serious.

All right I got it. The Heater Control Vavle broke and all my fluid drained out making for a very cool steam show . 25 dollar part and fluid and I was good to go. I just couldnt figure out why I was loosing fluid all the time.
