Water Pump question

Water Pump question

Do you have to pull the radiator to remove th water pump?? And do I need a high performance water pump or can I just use a standard. I have a 88 Iroc with a 305

no the radiator can stay. i would replace the upper and lower hose along with the thermostat and thermostat gasket while you're there. any old water pump will work, i'd recommend one with a lifetime warranty in case you ever need to replace it in the future. can be bought from a local parts store.

Thanks but my water pump hasn't gone out, the pully is just sloppy and growling and the belt or something is squeeking. Still cools just fine. Still think I should change on the hoses and thermestat???
