A/C Clutch kicking in and out alot

I turn my A/C on and my clutch kickes in and out alot and the car takes forever to get cool. It doesn't get cold, it get cool. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

you just need a charging, there is a safety that prevents the compressor to be on when the refrigerant is low

Agreed. I don't know about anyone who still does R12 charges, but it's easy enough to convert to R-134a. I just released any gas in the system, switched the connectors, and pumped it full of R-134a following the kit I bought's instructions. For like $25, my car's air has been ice cold for the last 3 years.

Dealers and persons qualified can get R-12.., but you will pay a very very high price for it.

Yea, refrigerant level is low... I too just recently converted over to R-134 for the same reason, but I changed out the Drier also...
R-134 Is MUCH cheaper than R-12!

Its Extremely easy, if you can change oil, you can convert to R-134... Wal-Mart has a conversion kit, it includes a gauge, new adapters, and 3 cans of R-134, you will need just one more can... I paid like $30 and $10 for additional can...

again, super easy. Thank God, cuz I live in Texas...
