Where is the temperature gauge sensor in the engine compartment on an 88 V6?? i'm not looking for the temperature sending unit nor the thermostat. the sending unit and 'stat are brand new, but my gauge is still crazy. my mechanic said it was driver side bottom left of engine. i checked there but the sensor i bought doesn't have the same end for the sensor wire. also, there is some unknown sensor right next to the 'stat and sending unit. is that the gauge sensor??

ok, i think i found it. after doing some research, apparently the "sensor" i'm looking for is actually called the temperature sending switch, and is located on the front of the left cylinder head (it's gonna be a biatch to get out). now that i'm pretty sure i've found it, does anyone have any experience in this to verify that that's actually the part i'm looking for? also, any advice on an easier way to get it out and install the new one would be greatly appreciated.
