Engine: 305 carb moded
overheating at 65-80, and
I've noticed, my temp jumps up, anf higher speeds, but stays good in town, I know that once you reach a certain speed the fans ability to pull air is overcome by vehicle speed,
I have checked to see if my air dam was in place, and to my knowledge it isn't (but im new to 3rd gen camaros, my last camaro was a 78 type LT)
I just purchased this car over the past weekend, 91 rs, 305, with an edlebrock carb, and standard hei,
I am unsure as to what heat range the thermostat is, I have a 160 ready to go in, and it looks to me the condensor has alot of misc bugs and othe road debri in it,
so my thoughts are, change the thermostat, hit the rad, and condensor with high pressure water, and get an radiator air dam,
now I haven't check the timing, or carb tuning, but it starts real easy, and runs great,
could anyone post a pic of the radiator air damn in place, so I could see its location, and size

It is a piece of plastic under the radiator tray. Search for "air dam" and youll find pics.
Verify that is all in place before getting into too much guessing
Good luck

First welcome to the site.
Good advice from Forshock. If your RS is missing,or has a badly damaged lower airdam you will have the highway overheating problem you stated. It's mounted to the lower part of the radiator support. You'll notice the holes along the bottom edge of the support.I have a picture of one but not mounted on the car(I got the picture off of Ebay).Make sure you get one for a post '85 Camaro. The '82->'84 lower airdams are smaller in height.I was amazed at the difference when I changed mine.
Cleaning the debris out of the condensor and radiator is a good idea in itself.Along with checking/changing the thermostat(IMHO go with the new fail safe style)and check the radiator cap.
