Gauge problem or sender problem?

My temp gauge does some strane stuff. Its an 87 firebird, with the stock electric gauges. The car sat for 2yrs and is now back up and moving, reused the sending unit and gauges. Well anyways, the gauge will peg to the left when cranking, but when the car is running, it will sit at 140-160. As the car warms up and gets past that point it acts normal, and is reading the same as the OHMs on the sending unit. The sending unit according to my meter is right, the gauge just doesnt ever read below 160. The green wire is clean and clear of all hot objects, and the contacts are good on the cluster and the sender.

Any Ideas? Its not a huge concern, just wondering if its an easy fix.

speaking from experence these guages are crap they are un reliable i fitted a new digital temp guage to mine which isnt that hard when you know where everythin is only took 1 hour to sort out and its spot on. I would suggest getting a new guage and fit that in
