fan switch in head

Well, looks like I broke the wire that comes off the sensor on the head and now I cannot reattach, is it difficult to take the switch out and replace it? or should I just take that wire, run it through the firewall and connect it to a manual switch.

Thanks all

Easy to replace the sensor, and cheap too. It just screws in. But drain your coolant first, and don't do it until the engine has cooled.
