strange coolant leak

i have a 1982 trans am 350 5.0. temp reaches 220 and when i shut the engine off, coolant leaks out of the upper hose connected to the radiator neck. replaced the hose twice. still leaks. almost as if clamp wasn't tight enough. there is a half of a lip on the radiator neck, could this be causing the hose clamp to tighten the hose in an irregular manor allowing the leak?

had the same problem turned out I sprung a small pin hole leak in the side tank of the radiator.I think your going to have to repair/replace the radiator.

Sounds like there may be a crack around the neck where the hose connects to the radiator.

I just found a leak right under the hose on the drivers side. It was all good till this AM. Start it up, idel to the mail box round the corner, pull away and see some fluid. go look and its green! look under the car and I have a rapid drip, almost a slow pour from the back drivers side of the radiator. Pop the hood and I see a lil steam from under the top hose and look closer to find a lil bit bubbling from just junder the hose on the "bend" of the radiator wall. I had noticed the resivor looking a lil low, but didnt see any leaks or anything till today.

Is this something that can be fixed? is is worth it to fix? the car has 52,000 OG miles, Im not sure if any of the cooling system has been replaced or worked on in the past. Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

go buy a stock replacement aluminum radiator, heavy duty if they sell it in aluminum....key word is aluminum, don't take the brass or copper ones as they weigh a ton and do not cool as well as aluminum. I'd also replace the hose clamps since you're not "supposed" to reuse them ever.

another question, should the hoses "squeeze" easily? or should they be stiff.

Mine are kinda squishy.

and I have seen radiators from 100-700.....any help on a good one more on the 100 side would be awesome!!!
