just fluched the cooing system...

Well I am fighting a mnor annoyance of the car heating up to 240+ whild driving 75 with AC on. made a air dam and just finished flushing the rad and all the cooling passages.... HOLY BROWN GOO BATMAN!! I drained the murky green fluid out last week and filled with water and one bottle of Prestone super rad cleaner. its the one you are supposed to leave in for about 6 hours of driving time... removed the 5/8ths hose from the heater core and heater diverter doohickey and added in about 2 feet of new hose with a tee in the middle so I could hook my garden hose up to it. turned on the water and after my rad refilled about 5 mins worth of brownish greenish watter came out. good god it looked horrible. I let it run for about 15 mins and then started the car with the heater on full and the hose still running and let it run like that for about 20 mins. no more brown crud came out and the water was crystal clear. so I am hoping this is going to work, but I am kinda planning on doing this eevery other weekend untill I know the coolaant is staying the same color and no more crud is finding its way out of some hiding spot.

now I just gotta talk myself into doing this with the oil.... God I hate buying used cars when the previous owner diddnt go the extra bit to maintaain them. its a lot of time wasted fixing everything back up ya know? But at least I get some wrench time right?

Wow, too bad I cant go back and edit my title.... damn fat fingering the keyboard......
