Need some help please...

Hi, I have a 92 Pontiac Firebird...and I really could use some help please.

My car has been overheating on and off lately. I already had a new radiator put in it, its not leaking, and the antifreeze is getting hot like it should. However, about two weeks ago I thought it might be the thermostat, so I bought the top of the line lifetime warrantee kind and put that in. It ran fine up until yesterday, and I'm thinking it may be the serpentine belt, which I haven't had time to go check yet (plan on doing that tonight after work) it may be wearing and not pulling the water pump as good as it should (no water pump leaks ), or the temperature sensor to the ECM which turns the fan on and off.

My question is this: Can someone please tell me an easy way to not only find the temperature sensor, but also how to change it? Thanks very much for your help.

Is your electric fan coming online around 200 degrees or so? It should be electric, same set up as my 92 bird. If it doesn't kick on at 200 try turning on your A/C. Mine runs with the A/C, I haven't a clue on why thats wired that way but it may be a thermostat switch. Same issue as my car atm

Ooops, sorry...I was playing with the smilies so long I didn't see a real man step up to the plate!

I believe that is the problem, the fan isn't coming on sometimes at 195 when it should...with or without the AC on it does it....I just changed the thermostat..so its not that.

Yes. However, I may have had a vacuum leak because my air filter wasn't connected to my intake manifold. I forgot to connect it last time when I changed my thermostat...oops.

My radiator was replaced months ago and have always used 50/50, not a distilled water problem, but thanks all the same.

No, I have a gauge that tells me when its hot, plus the fact that I saw the coolant boiling says a lot.

Thanks, but I would really appreciate it if you all just stuck the to question I asked. Since then, I have found out where my temperature sensor is from the guy who sold me one. We checked to make sure it was the problem because when we unplugged the sensor, the fan went on telling me it wasn't my fan motor. Its the sensor, I'm sure of it. I'll be changing it in an hour or so on break.

Thanks for your help, guys, but next time, it would just help if you just answer a straight question with a straight answer if you really want to help a girl out. Be blessed.
