radiator hose

hi everybody, i just had a question about the lower radiator hose on my trans am. thanks alot for your comments.

i was looking at the hoses to see what may need replacing and the lower radiator hose feels like it has something inside it. the hose isnt all hard and damaged, but is there something mechanical that is supposed to be in the hose??? or more likely has a foreign object travelled inside it and become stuck? feels like its in a couple of spots and it surprised me

It's a reinforcing spring to keep the hose from collapsing under suction.

excellent, thank you much.

on a similar note, its the original radiator from 1984, still working but i will eventually change it. any model type suggestions for a 3 row radiator or other replacement? aluminum, copper, plastic....so many out there and advise is always good

im sure just an oem replacement is fine for now, but when i start to working on my engine for more hp and torque i would feel better about having a better one i think

thanks again, great website!

I don't know. I run a stock radiator on my 383, but some people complain about inadequate cooling on their stock 305s. Maybe wait and see if you have cooling problems before worrying about it.
