Heater issues
Hey I have a 1987 Iroc-Z Z-28 and the heater does not work or it will not blow hot air. The blower works but there is no heat. I'm not sure but i do not think that there is any water or wet spots in the car. Can some one help me is my heater core gone or what?

A couple of things to check. First how old is your coolant. When was the last time is was changed. Second check you thermostat, could be stuck in the open position not allow the coolant to reach the correct operating temp.

also check ur heater valve. when i got my car, it wasn't heating my car very good and my car didn't get to normal temp either. i replace the thermostat (thats a hard to change) and the cracked heater valve and some hoses. now it cooks me while i'm driving it lol
Heater not working
Hold the line into the heater valve to make sure it is getting hot water from the radiator. If it is hold the line out to the heater core to see if the water into the heater core is hot. If it is not hot you may have a heater valve problem or a vaccum problem to the heater valve. The heater valve should not have any vaccum applied to it when the temperature control lever on the
HVAC head is in the Hot position. You can get heat by pulling and plugging this vaccum line. If it does have vaccum on the heater valve with the lever in the hot position then hot water is not making it to the heater core. Pull the HVAC head and make sure the vaccum distribution head,
right behind the fan control switch, is working properly. It should have a purple vaccum hose going to it. Make sure the little follower on the vaccum distribution head is in the slider attached to the temperature lever.
