wireing a single fan to a manual switch
how would i go about wireing a 305 TBI motors single fan to a manual switch? for some weird reason my fan only goes on when the AC is on, and its on all the time, nemours places have tryed to fix it since i got it but ive just given up, the how to sticky wasnt linking me to the right spot
If it's the same fan as i have on my 86TPI and i think it would be, it has 2 wire's coming from the fan yeah? if so 1 is Negatative earth that one to the body and run the other to one terminal on the switch and then run another wire from the other termianal on the switch to the positive terminal on the battery.
That's how i have mine at the moment but it is not a permenant solution though. It has worked fine like this ever since i wired it up about 6 months ago.
P.S I would put a fuse in the positive wire as well.
Hope this helps.
Jeff.

Take look at the relays on the firewall. The one closest to the driver side should have a green wire with a white stripe in it, and a little exposed bit near where it plugs in. If you ground that wire, the fan will come on. It is only relay current, so you can wire in a switch no problem.
