Waterpump opinions
My water pump is leaking and since the motor is out I figure I might as well get a new one.
I have a serpentine system and a short water pump.
I am putting in a 383 stroker motor(I had a 305 before)
I have the stock aluminum rad and I have both rad fans wired on with a switch.
I would like to get the electric pump but I don't want the $500 price tag!!
Is the weight savings worth it for an aluminum pump?
Should I get a high flow pump?

if your gonna race it or street/strip, you should prob go w/ the high-flo pump because its just safe that way...aluminum waterpump is also ok.
now...if your gonna go electric then you have to buy a pump (about 250 on jegs.com) and then buy the brackets and adapters so you can still mount your alternator and powersteering pump. i suggest buying a meziere waterpump (the p100 model i think ???). you can buy brackets and kits on jegs too, i just bought an electric water pump kit myself, comes with pump, brackets, and new pulleys for p/s pump, alternator and crank cost me just over 500, which i think is reasonable for the 5 or 10 hp your gonna save yourself. lol
