Air Conditioning

Hello,

Would there be any concerns with taking the Air conditioning system out of a 1992 camaro 3.1. Reason im doing this is because when i got the car the a/c compressor had no belt on it and it was locked up. Plus its alot of weight just sitting there. thanks

No problems taking the compressor and condensor out. You;ll need a shorter belt or a idler pulley in it's place. Unless you want to pull the dash out you won't be taking the evaporator out though. A/C doesn't weigh that much, probably 35-40lbs for the entire system. Put a new compressor on it and enjoy it in the summer. It's gonna take more than dropping 25lbs to get that 3.1 into a screamer.
