92 camaro heater core

I read all the tricks ans still find it a pain in the butt to get to the heater core. Once I get it b ack from the body shop I might just bypass it. I have the dash apart and the entire bottom have but still cant get to a couple of screws. It was bypassed when I got the car guess I found out why.

Your dash is taken apart? It's a lotta work but you are so close. I found it easier to pull the passenger seat, and the center console, open everything up so I could get to those hard to access screws, push a few things out of the way... Maybe more than needed but, it gave me unrestricted access so I did it. You might not need or want to.. but, it's a job worth doing once to get heat back into your ride. The biggest hassle was replacing the tight quaters hose on the firewall. You get that far you'll see what I mean.

Dont give up! Good luck!

are the camaro ones he same as trans ams? i honestly got my done in less than 1 hour. Start to finish and that included vacuuming the antifreeze up from the old one blowing and washing my windsheild to get all the film off of it. I have abrand new heater core still attached to the plastic piece. if its the same you should only have to undo like 4 bolts, slide mine in and put the bolts back on.

i striiped my car COMPLETELY last week, my GF took it out this time in about 20-30 minutes, i really dont understand why everyone thinks they are so hard.

I have a core I scavenged from a '92 RS if need one.
Make me an offer if interested. It looks like new.

do you have the dash pouch? those allow access to the top screws, which is a lot harder in the camaros.

I must be a slow loser because I worked on mine for 5 hours last night and I'm 3/5 of the way done. Plus I have to repair some of the parts I broke in the progress.
