Leak at thermostat
I have a leak at the interface of the intake manifold and water outlet/thermostat housing due to my dumb A@$ over torquing it (Didn't have a torque wrench at the time).
My question, is there any reason why I wouldn't be able to have a machine shop re-thread the stripped threads on the intake manifold,
OR
Would something like JB weld work well to seal that area? I'm trying to fix it at minimum cost, yet last for about a year and a half til I get an aftermarket intake.
Thanx in advance

It depends how bad the threads are. JB weld may hold, but when I had it for a temporary fix on my gas line, it cracked. Then again, I had basically broken my throttle body in two pieces and the fuel line threads were torn in half, but if its small like i said JB may hold.

you could drill and tap threads yourself tappers are dirt cheap
helicoil would work
use lots or RTV black sealer on both sides of the gasket
these things commonly leak and can be a real PITA
makes ppl overtighten them and then that in turn causes more problems, as you well know :P
good luck
