temp sensor

when i went to break in my new cam this weekend i noticed the electric fan was not comin on. i waited until about 250* before i shut it off for fear of screwing somethign up. i cannot figure out why the fan does not come on, i wired it to the battery directly and it ran, and i just replaced the temp sensor with a bran new one, although i thought i was strange that i had to get one for an 83 because the hookup was different then the one that was supposedly for a 86. do u think they gave me some kinda other sensor? it looks the same but i dunno

Re: temp sensor

just throw a fan switch in, turn on the fan when ever you want. Or do what I did and just run a wire to an ignition switch so the fan is always running as long as the car is on...
