How many CFM Do stock dual fans flow???

Got a question. How many cfm do stock fans flow? I was told about 500 each. Was gonna go with the flexalite dual set up that flows 2500cfm. A lot of aftermarket fans will not fit. They are to thick for my procharger system. HELP. Thanks

Re: How many CFM Do stock dual fans flow???

I'm not sure of the cfm rating of stock dual fans but I wouldn't put too much faith in cfm ratings. A stock single electric fan cooled my car well. Once it went bad I bought a perma-cool 16in 1300cfm fan. It would barely keep the car from overheating and ran constantly just to keep the engine at 215 at idle. The Perma-cool moved much less air than the stock fan. So I bought a Spal 16in 1600cfm fan and it moved way more air than both the stock and perma-cool fan even though the cfm rating wasn't much different. You get what you pay for in fans the Spal costs more but was well worth it. I would consider a Spal fan or dual spal fans if you want some real air flow.
I had brackets welded on my radiator to hold the Spal fan, it looks great and gives a lot of room.

I have a question. with a aftermarket electric fan, should you make a shround for it or would that kinda defeat the purpose as in only allow that certain ammount of air through the fan area?

Well if the fan only covers 50% of the rad center it make a shroud about 2" on either side of the fan and have foam tape on the out side of it to seal it to the radiator.
This alows the fan to PULL air through the radiator but also has about 3 to 4" either side of it to alow air flow around it if there is more air than the fan can handle

I have had problems with aftermarket fans. My car would always overheat. I installed a stock dual fan set up and never had a problem since.
