air bubbles in coolent tank?

i just drained my radiator to put in a new coolent temp sensor and cold start switch.

i refilled my radiator and jug with coolent.

i started the engine. i noticed air bubbles coming up into the coolent jug from the hose that feeds the radiator.

It takes a while to get all the air bubbles out. As long as there are no leaks I wouldn't worry about it unless it is still happening after a few days of driving.

Re: air bubbles in coolent tank?

I thought the coolant system would get all the air bubbles out itself you just keep topping the radiator off. :hmm:

Re: air bubbles in coolent tank?

To bleed the system you should stick a funnel in the neck of the radiator where you fill it, pour coolant into the radiator until it is full and then pour some more in so that it is almost full in the funnel also. Then start the car and you will see the air bubbles coming out. Continue filling it up until all the air bubbles come out and until your coolant level is correct.
