overheated, hit 240!!!

overheated, hit 240!!!

well i was driving back home yesterday and i looked down and my temp was 240!!! the fan wiring got loose so it didn't come on. pulled over as soon as i saw it and fixed the wiring. it was like that for probably 20-30 min. when i popped my hood to fix the wires the block was making a nosie. did i wrap a head???

I dont think that would do it, un less you were tearing it up while it was that hot, my car recently overheated on a daily basis, and its still fine, it has even surpassed 260 lol, I mean its all possible for your heads to get junked, Gotta remember it was still way so hot when u poped the hood, does it still make that sound?? does it run any different??

I think youd blow a gasket before doing any damage to the head.

no it doesn't make the sound anymore and it doesn't overheat anymore either. as far as i can tell it runs like it always did.
