Fan STILL wont kick on

Hi everyone, so far i changed the fan relay, the relay connector, fan fuse and fan wont kick on. However, it did kick on once last week while the car was idling. But the next day, it didnt turn on. I am running out of ideas here. I think the fan motor is good, but when the adld connector is jumped, i tested the fan power connector and it was getting no voltage. But then i used a voltage tester pen, inserted into the connector and it lit up. So im really confused here. I was thinking maybe its the cooling fan switch, but the fan still wont turn on with the ignition on, adld connector jumped. The other thing i read about on the boards that causes this problem is the fusible link. COuld that be it? Where is it on the 2.8v6? Thanks again in advance.

Update! Well, the fan does work, only when the green wire and red wire going to the relay is jumped. But the fan will not turn on by itself. Could it be the relay? I just changed it though, maybe defective? Im thinking to just install a manual switch between these 2 wires like ive seen on the boards.

Not hijacking but I also have the exact same problem as we speak. It could possibly be your temp switch on the passenger side head if it's original (mine is not, which baffles my situation).

If you have $20 to spend and want the problem fixed right away, go to summit and order a painless fan relay kit that comes with its own temp switch. I wired both of my TPI fans that way when I went to carb. Works like a dream, car runs COOOOLD now. like 165 in traffic. Also when you do this you know what you are working with. New relay, wires, fuse and temp switch. A little more $, but you get the problem fixed once and for all. With no headaches. DO IT!

haha.

later.

dual fans or single? if you have dual fans there are two separate signal wires that run to the relays, if one's working and one's not you can control both relays with the one.
