How do I bypass my heater core, control valve, and oil cooler completely?
I believe my oil cooler has been disconnected since my engine was rebuilt due to a pinhole in one of the metal tubes, that is, if the oil cooler lines are the set of lines coming out from under where my air pump used to be. My heater core has taken a crap and is leaking fluid into my passenger floorboard so I'd like to completely bypass all this if it'd be easier than actually replacing the heater core, and I live in florida so it'll be rare that I'd need heat anyway, but when the time comes I'll deal with replacing the core. As it is right now, I have fluid going into my heater core even when all controls in my car are set to off, otherwise this would not be a problem for me.
My current setup is:
Hose from my radiator under the fill cap is going to the metal pipe that runs the frame rail (i don't know where this pipe goes), the top port of my heater control valve is hooked up to the first T in that pipe, the bottom hose of my heater core is hooked to the second T in the pipe, and then the pipe dissapears somewhere towards the firewall. The top hose off my heater core is running to the bottom port on the heater control valve, and the third (offset) port of my heater control valve is running to the front of my intake manifold being that i bypassed the throttle body.
Where does that metal pipe go that runs down the frame rail on the passenger side?
Is my current setup somehow hooked up wrong?
Thanks for all your help, I'm trying to get my car to where I will trust it to get me from A to B without leaving me up ****'s creek.

Re: How do I bypass my heater core, control valve, and oil cooler completely?
I found that the metal pipe running down the frame rail doesn't dissapear past the firewall, but it turns up and the right tube of the heater core connects to it, that made things alot more simple to figure out so all I did was run a custom heater hose from the radiator to the front of the intake manifold and removed the heater control valve along with the hoses that were connected to it. This should allow me to easily hook everything back up whenever I replace my heater core.
for anyone who wants to do the same, i ran from the intake manifold straight out, following the angle of the connection there, once i got past the tensioner I 90'd over towards the port on the radiator, and 90'd into the radiator, there was plenty of clearance to keep me comfortable between the tensioner/serpentine and the new hose.
I left the right hose of the heater core connected to the pipe because there was really no need to take it off being that it wasn't in the way, hard to get to, and pretty well hidden. otherwise that pipe doesn't have anything else connected to it.
