I was able to find a place locally that could order it and it would run me $125. Is that in the ballpark or a ripoff?

For just the adapter? You should be able to buy 3 or 4 of them for that price.

Yeah. I dont want to sound ignorant, its just that I have never priced them before. I have not checked the parts stores as I didnt think they would have them. Maybe Im wrong. Any suggestions as to which specific place might have one of these much more reasonably priced units?

Summit has an entry level kit from Derale. It's just about 80 bucks for the adapter, 10ft of hose, fitting and the cooler. I forget the part number, but it was a breeze to put it.
