Heater box Repair
Last year, while I was doing the trans swap, I pulled out my dash to get some other wiring done back there, and to hopefully repair the temperature control door on the heater box. The door has been broken since I adjusted the cable (the lever broke while I was adjusting the cable) that runs from the control head. I found out then that the thing is really hard to get to and even harder to replace.
I now have a replacement control door, that was pulled from an 84, and I need to know two things: 1. Will the replacement work?; and 2. How do I get the one out of the 87 so I can replace it?
I'm kind of tired of having 170+ degree air blowing on my legs as I travel down the road at 60+ with the windows open, IN THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER!

Re: Heater box Repair
Okay, that idea is toast. I nabbed an upper mode door from a NON-A/C car, which had the lever operated side vents.
Another question arises: Since I have everything apart and can see what I need to do, what is the quickest and easiest way to get the heater box out of the passenger compartment? That's just about the only way I am going to fix the door I need to fix (and the other way isn't going to be pretty). I can get a heater box real easy, since there is around four thirdgens in my fav pick-your part yard, one of which has just arrived and only I have touched
