I'm in the process of taking the 305 out of my car and putting the 406 in. I am retaining the serpentine belt setup and want to know if I can still run A/C? My friend says I won't have enough engine vacuum to run the A/C. Whats that about? I am going to go with a better radiator to help keep temps down. I know I will probably have to use some sort of idle solenoid to kick the idle up when it's on. It would be easier to just put a non A/C heater box in it, but hey, every 11 second car needs A/C.

Vacuum has nothing to do with whether or not the AC is on or off, or working or not.

Run AC. you'll be fine.

 

yea i didnt think vacuum had anything to do w/ it..jus run your hoses underneath so it looks clean

 

I use a throttle kicker solenoid from Holley, IIRC.

Thanks for the input. Next is going to be what radiator I use. I have a griffin 31x19 but it's going to require some modification to run it. I know some people swear that a stock radiator is enough, but my stock 305 runs hot sometimes, I just don't know.
