Fan runs all the time?

Car: '87 IROC/'68 SS
Engine: 5.7L/350
Transmission: 700R4/Muncie 4-spd
Axle/Gears: 3.27 9 bolt / 3.31 12 bolt
Fan runs all the time?
In an '87 5.7 IROC, is it normal for one of the fans to run whenever the key is on and the other to come on with the A/C? Just wondering if it's normal or if I have a bad temp switch.

As far as I know, `88 and up the secondary fan comes on when the air is turned on while driving under 40mph or the engine temp exceeds 234. Not sure about how your primary works, I think it is different than the `88. Check under Search and you should come up with more info than you know what to do with.
