new dual fans problem.....

ok for starters my car is stock and i just replaced the stock fans with a set from a donor lt1 car perfect fit i checked them and now they work ..there in the car and i have replaced the relays and my fans wont turn on automatically ... i have my temp set at 170 in my ecm to turn on i run a 160 thermo... i have traced down my wires and checked my fuses and nutin it over heats bad cause the fans are not kickin on when they need to can anyone help .. what can be causing this .....? thanks hardroc

Ok hardroc, how about some info about your car. Year, make, model, engine, carb, TPI, TBI, trans, single or dual fans,etc. You did not mention anything about a fan switch, that`s what your problem sounds like, have you checked it? Depending on your cars specs, it could be on the passenger side of the engine between #6 & #8 cylinder and may have a single wire going to it. If you find the wire, ground it and if the fan runs the switch is bad, replace it.

it is a 90 irocz with a l98 and a t56 6 speed dual fans tpi ... are you refering to the coolant temp sensor in the side of the head...?

Not sure about your car but my `88 Iroc has the coolant fan switch on the passenger side between 6 & 8 and the temp sensor for the temp gauge is on the driver side between 1 & 3. I`m having severe knee trouble the past few days so it may take me awhile to get back upstairs to respond to your questions.
