thermostat temp help

Hey guys was wondering Ive been reading alot of things on here about cooling, and I see 180 stats beign used alot. My question is I purchased hypertech's chip and it states to use a 160. Im reworking some bugs in my cooling system and was wondering if i can use the 180 and would it affect the chips performance any. I dont have a real problem with the 160 but its colder than a welldiggers butt in the winter unless i let the car run for 10-15 min before i jump in it and take off.
