Alright first off im already ticked i cant figure this out. I started working on my project 92 Formula with 305 TBI. Fans were not turning on. So grab fan and find that the fan is completely locked in place and will not turn at all. I step away to take phone call and come back to find that father removed the fan by taking the 4 bolts. No big deal, find that there is a small warp in the fan causing it to hit the housing. heat it up fix problem. So i pull the radiator shroud and reinstall the top 2 bolts only to find that when i slide it back on, NO WAY can i get this fan to sit like it needs to and spin without hitting the bottom metal support. So im thinking wrong fan but it matches the bolt holes just fine its just entirely way to big. Anyone have demensions of how big the fan and housing or pics of the fan installed so i can get this ordered or put back together. Thanks.

 

umm...isnt all that stuff plastic? why did you heat it up? get a junkyard fan and see if there is still a problem.

 

Ok i actually took some time today and noticed the reason its all messed up is looks like previous owners either jacked the car up or smoked something with the bottom radiator support so it was forcing the fan to pinch between it and the top. So a little 2X4 action with a sledge and bam all straight and the fan is reinstalled. Ontop of this however I noticed that the fans onlyh come on with the AC. So of course i check the fan switch and guess what else is broke from teh previous owner. So i quickly attached new wire to old one ran to interior added switch and for now till i get to autozone later this week this will work. And I may just keep it anyway.

 

if it was jacked up using the radiator support then you may want to make sure the car is still not overheating. if the radiator is higher then what it should be it wont cool properly. me and walmart went threw this and the eventually gave me a free set of tires. i went threw the entire cooling system. fan, radiator, fan switch, thermostat and then i finally figured it out. keep an eye on it.
